Automobiles in German Town Discovered Covered with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Report

Police mentioned they were alerted by a man who discovered a car in Hanau smeared with red-colored liquid

Around fifty vehicles have been smeared with what appears to be blood from a person in the Germany's municipality of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, as reported by authorities.

Vehicles, exterior walls and mailboxes were marked, in some cases with prohibited symbols, they announced in a official communication.

Police say they were notified late on Wednesday, when a resident observed that a car in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a reddish substance.

The liquid had been applied in the shape of a banned symbol, they reported.

Officers then discovered multiple other vandalized vehicles and house walls in the surrounding area.

Swastikas are banned in Germany under laws outlawing the public exhibition of symbols from the Nazi era.

Law enforcement say early analysis indicate the fluid was most likely blood from a person.

"Currently there is no indication as to its source; officials are not yet informed of any harm in relation with the occurrence," they added.

City officials stated they were working "to resolve the mystery" and have asked to the public for details.

A senior political figure said the incident made him without words and needed to be addressed quickly.

"This event hits the very heart of Hanau and revives the trauma of the extremist terrorist attack half a decade ago," he stated on a platform, referring to the murder of nine victims by a assailant aiming at people of immigrant origin in February 2020.
